Born and raised in Stockholm and now living and working in Copenhagen Enström talks about his recent work during a visit to Stockholm in March 2012.

Emström works predominantly from pre-existing imagery; pictures from magazines, advertising, rock album covers and the like. His prolific endeavour to portray the very essence of his subjects over short, fierce, intense bursts of activity lends his work a most particular expressive style; ‘alba-esque’ one could say. For Enström is a most particular character, born of another era, one far more elegant the present. Yet his elegance plays against an apparent certain brutality when one views his works of iconic portraiture of love and devotion and all the desperate beautiful confusion that exists in between.
